Panama City to celebrate Woods Ball Field Grand Reopening

Renovated Woods Ball Field, including concession stand and field fencing

The City of Panama City invites the public to a grand reopening event on Wednesday, May 24 at 9 a.m. to celebrate the completed renovation of the Woods Ball Field.

The event will take place at the Woods Ball Field located at 1236 E. 14th Street.

All community members and stakeholders are encouraged to join in celebrating the completion of the renovation, which included reconstruction of the infield and concession stand, installation of new sod, and new dugouts, batting cages with turf, bleachers and lighting. The project was completed in-house by the City's Quality of Life and Public Works Departments.

Florida Power and Light, formerly Gulf Power Company, covered the cost of the new lighting through a grant awarded to Panama City.

Attendees will include the Mayor, Commissioners, city staff and representatives from Florida Power and Light and the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.

Woods Ball Field serves as the home field for two youth baseball leagues as well as a location for free community events hosted by the Quality of Life Department.
